Let’s be honest: going out to eat with “the gang” sometimes feels more like a rescue mission than a relaxing moment. Between the stroller that doesn’t fit, the “I don’t like green” argument, and the fear that the little one will decide to give an operatic concert in the middle of dessert, many parents end up staying home.

But, oh, families! Estepona isn’t just the Garden of the Costa del Sol because of its flowers; it’s a garden because of its patience, its joy, and its way of understanding the table. Here, children aren’t “little customers,” they’re the joy of the house.

If you’re looking for a place where you won’t get strange looks if you drop a fork, keep reading.

The aroma of a true welcome

The first thing you’ll notice when you step through the door of a traditional corner of Estepona isn’t just the smell of delicious fried food or wood smoke. It’s the aroma of welcome. Here, the commitment of those of us on the other side of the stove isn’t just to serve you a dish; it’s to make you relax, breathe, and feel like you’re in your aunt’s living room.

We know that you need space for your shopping cart, that the water has to be at room temperature, and that sometimes you need your steak to be ready five minutes before everything else. And we do it with a smile, because we’ve been there too.

Spaces where the “magic” is contagious

In our corner, the atmosphere isn’t rigid or serious. We seek that warmth that white walls and the light streaming through the window provide. We want the children to be mesmerized by the details while you enjoy that first sip of wine (or a perfectly poured beer).

We’re not looking for absolute silence, we’re looking for harmony. That mixture of laughter, after-dinner conversation, and the clinking of glasses that truly makes a meal a celebration.

The commitment to making you feel cared for

What makes a place ideal for families? It’s not having a play area with plastic balls.

It’s having someone who takes care of you.

It’s the waiter who tells a joke to make the child laugh, It’s the owner who comes out to ask if the meat is cooked the way the little one likes it, It’s knowing that if you need something special, the answer will always be: “Don’t worry, we’ll take care of it right away.”

Because at Abanico Restaurant Estepona, cooking is about love. And we want you to go home with a full stomach, a happy heart, and the feeling that you’ve finally enjoyed a meal out the way you deserve.

A little friendly tip:

If you’re passing through the old town, take the opportunity to stroll through the Plaza de las Flores beforehand and take some amazing photos. Let the kids run around a bit among the fountains, and when hunger starts to strike, head over to us. We have the table set and a hug ready for your arrival.

We’ll be waiting for you with open arms!
